Finally getting somewhere

So this week has been a bit hectic. On Friday while I was across town picking up my daughter from her school and meeting her teacher for the very first time. My phone rings and it's my son's school back on my side of town informing me that he tried to hurt himself at school and he was in the counselors office wanting to go home. I go straight into panic mode and inform my daughter's teacher that I was very sorry but I needed to go. Then ran (with my daughter) to the car and sped all the way back to my son's school. Calling family and friends along the way to pray for my driving and my son.
I get to the school and find out that it was a little thing that blew my son over the edge. Apparently there was a substitute who decided to write the name of the good kids on the board. I don't think this was made clear to my son so when he looked up he saw his name on the board and continued to freak out. He says he thought he was in trouble. So he grabbed a pair of scissors and tried to cut his wrist. When he was stopped from doing that he proceeded to bang his head on something hard and still has a red spot and a knot on his forehead from this. Thankfully he is fine now and realizes how he went overboard a bit.
Then his progress report comes out. With all the "issues" he has I know some subjects he is going to struggle with but Science has always been on of his best ones. So you can imagine my surprise when I saw he had a 35 in science. I did ground him until his grades came up. Then I get an email today from his science teacher informing me that He actually has a 92 in her class but she was unable to get into her grade book for 2 weeks. Seriously?!?!? How do you apologize to your child for punishing them when punishment wasn't needed but a reward was. So I took him money to school so he could have a real lunch and not just the free lunch he gets everyday.
Today while at the school doing the lunch thing I was able to talk to the principle and told him of a few of the issues I was having. Thankfully he listened and we have set up an ARD meeting for later this month. Then James had some stomach issues and I was told since there wasn't a nurse at school today that I should go ahead and take him to a dr. Well James' has had stomach issues since the day he was born and nothing has ever been done about it. But I did as the school asked and took James to the Dr. I am now happy I did as they informed me he has an intestinal infection and prescribed some antibiotics, and he has to go for labs, AND they FINALLY are lining him up with a GI specialist. I couldn't be happier. Even though with all the stress that first caused all this. I am glad today happened to get all these ducks in a row...
